The Old Sail Loft, Weymouth

At No 8. Trinity Street just off Weymouth’s historic harbour sits an obvious and intriguing building which by its appearance singles it out as older than its immediate neighbours. Originally this dwelling was believed to be a former Devenish brewery building where flour was stored.

More recently it has been known as the Old Sail Loft and home of the Leighton Art Gallery.

In September 2016 the team was invited to conduct an evening of research at this property. Our historic documentation and findings are available.
